DESCRIPTION
These Canadian maple wood skateboards feature DOTS OBSESSION (2018), by Yayoi Kusama, an artist represented in MoMA's collection. They're available in Black Small Dots, Black Big Dots, Red Small Dots and Red Big Dots.
Add your own wheels (not included) for cool, functional skateboards or hang on your wall as art (wall mount included).
These Dots Skateboards are replicas of artworks specially created by Yayoi Kusama. The original skateboards began as samples based on digital renderings of details from Kusama's work. They were sent to Kusama's studio in Tokyo for her approval. After reviewing them, Kusama decided they needed to be altered. She then meticulously hand-painted her famous motif over each deck. Our final products remain true to the patterns of Kusama's hand-painted pieces and are available in an open edition.
Japanese born artist Yoshitomo Nara has become known for this playful yet bold images, his mindfulness in determining how and where his art will be seen and for the close personal connection to his art’s creation. Nara selects colors that breathe life into his figures; his sculptures bear traces of his fingers, and the spontaneity of his drawings are born of a daily discipline of experimentation.

Designed in 1929/30, possibly by the Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel in Dessau; originals from the estate of an architect from Cologne who purchased many objects directly at the Bauhaus.
In celebration of the centennial of the Bauhaus (1919 – 2019) this is a proud re-edit set of 12 turned wood Christmas ornaments. Their clean geometric forms are reminiscent of the costume designs of Oskar Schlemmer for the Triadic Ballet. Crafted in the Black Forest in Germany, to a large extent by hand.

These posable figurines are based on the original 1918 Dada marionettes by Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
The original marionettes (17" all) were created by Taeuber-Arp for a richly embellished Dada version of “King Stag”, a tragicomedy by Carlo Gozzi. Taeuber-Arp’s revered creations, long known only in artist circles, are among the most important art works of the avant-garde, merging Dada performance with Constructivist and Concrete art. Created in collaboration with the Museum fur Gestalting Zurich and hand-crafted in Germany.

ABOUT THE DESIGN
Antoine Daniel is a French Designer and founder of the Line. He used his cabinet-maker background and his father’s architectural knowledge to craft city skyline silhouettes from sheets of steel. His first skyline was based off of a photograph his father took of the coast of Marseilles. Daniel redrew the silhouette in a continuous line then laser cut the outline. His first prototypes sold out immediately. The Line uses iconic viewpoints of famous cities that become, in essence, icons themselves.
