Conmoto's Fireplace Tools with Stand has everything you could ever want from a fireplace accessory set: a stand, ash shovel, tongs, poker and stunning modern design. Peter Maly came up with the idea to create the Fireplace Tools with Stand when he could not find contemporary accouterments that matched his tastes. Made from stainless steel and leather, the contrast that both of these materials make add a bit of theatrics to the tools and stand. Though these tools have been designed with the timeless refinement of geometric shapes in mind, you'll also appreciate their functionality.
DESIGN
Working in partnership with contemporary designers such as Peter Maly and Marco Ferreri, and with its own team of engineers, Conmoto redefines fireside tools and accessories. The clean, low profile and practical nature of these designs have earned the company numerous awards. Conmoto produces in Germany and in Italy, with an attention towards ecologically friendly manufacturing process. Thus the birth of these hand forged beautiful fire tools was born and we're very proud to sell them for the private home.

DESCRIPTION
This set of four tables was designed by Bauhaus master Josef Albers, a designer with work in MoMA’s collection. While serving as the artistic director of the furniture workshop at the Bauhaus from 1926 to 1927, Albers conceived the Nesting Tables for the private Berlin apartment of his and his wife Anni's closest friends. Albers was known for his geometric paintings, and his logic and passion for color are applied to these tables. Crafted in Germany from solid oak with lacquered glass tops, they work “independently and interdependently.”
Josef Albers, who played a leading role in bringing the modern design principles of the Bauhaus to the United States, was born in Germany in 1888. Albers is known for his compositions that explore the relationship of color through simple forms, such as the square. In 1950, Albers became the head of the Department of Design at Yale University. In 1963, he published the influential book Interaction of Color that outlined his theories about color and understanding the rules guiding visual experience.

Each stainless steel tool is wrapped in round-milled, full-grain leather bands to protect the handle from heat. The set comes complete with a wall-mount rack for convenient storage.
